Digging Deeper with Modeling & NGSSWondering how to get started with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)? During this session, teachers will be asked to try the approach of developing scientific models in the classroom. In doing so many of the other 8 scientific practices will naturally flow into lessons. Student engagement and retention of content should increase as more of the 8 scientific practices become the heart of the science lessons.

Heather is an ISBE-certified NGSS trainer who travels throughout central Illinois sharing these ideas & methods. Heather has transitioned her 6th grade science classroom to a NGSS inquiry-based model of exploration. Her high-energy style is coupled with many years of classroom experience, making this series of presentations engaging & relevant to almost any classroom.
NOTE: We are targeting the Science Curriculum Team for the first round of these sessions, but we welcome anyone who would like to learn more! Other sessions may be repeated later in the semester!
