Basic French for Communication with Students and their FamiliesHere is your chance to learn some basic French vocabulary and expressions to help you communicate with our French speaking students and their families! We’ll cover basic vocabulary and sentences, practicing oral communication. The course will build on the previous sessions we’ll spend our time practicing while having fun!

LESson 01

Learn the basics of French pronunciation. We’ll practice greetings and some numbers. Exchange greetings you can practice with each other or with Francophone students!

Lesson 02
|
In this lesson we’ll practice more numbers, basic colors & answer questions about the cultures of some of our French speaking students.

Lesson 03
|
Learn the names of family members & useful verbs to help in the classroom & when talking to parents. Practice basic conversational phrases and sentences.

Lesson 04
|
Learn about the calendar: months and days. Take everything we’ve learned to create more conversations and add some questions you might need to use with your students.

Lesson 05
|
Focus on school vocabulary: the things we use and see in our classrooms and in the building. Practice simple conversations to help students understand school tasks.

Lesson 06 March 16 |
In this class, we’ll add a few more common verbs to our growing vocabulary, which we’ll then use with what we’ve previously learned to have some conversations in French.

Lesson 07 MARCH 23 |
Today, we’ll learn how to talk about the time in French, and we’ll learn some adjectives to help give our conversations a little bit more je ne sais quoi.

As teachers, we need to be able to give clear instructions. Today, we’ll learn some simple phrases and sentences to give instructions in class in French.

And if our students aren’t feeling well? Today we’ll learn some basic vocabulary and phrases having to do with first aid and health.

How can I help my students understand key terms in their content classes? We’ll go over some basic content vocabulary for Math/Science/Social Studies/the Arts

Lesson 11
|
So you want to talk with your student’s parents? Today, we’ll practice some basice vocabulary and conversation for communicating with parents. Lots of role play today!

Lesson 12
|
Our last session. We’ll review what we’ve learned and put it into practice with roleplays and conversations. We’ll also share some resources to help you continue to practice and learn.
