Blended Learning with Video Resources - A 5-part Series
Start with some basic ways to introduce material using YouTube and other resources, then learn how to make your own videos and incorporate formative & summative assessment tools into the mix! This 5-part series will include small achievable "homework challenges" to help you get comfortable with integrating these technologies into your regular classroom activities. Turn your classroom into a supportive, student-centered 21st century digital learning environment with a little Blended Learning!

Session 1: Making YouTube Work for you
Learn how to create a classroom YouTube channel. Become familiar with YouTube's "secret" advanced search features. Move into creating and organizing playlists, and subscribing to channels. Make a sample video with a Chromebook & upload it to YouTube.

Session 2: Video Editing with YouTube
Did you know that you can edit videos inside YouTube with no extra apps, software, or downloads required? Join us to explore YouTube's editing features and learn how to add annotations, "cards," text, music, etc.

Session 3: Screencasting with Screencastify
Learn how to use Screencastify to record what happens on your Chromebook screen and share with students. Participants will save videos to Drive and upload to Youtube.

Session 4: Videos for Blended Learning
Learn how to develop a modular, differentiated workflow using Google Docs or Google Slides. Create documents that are interactive, self paced, and self directed.

Session 5: Using Videos in FOrmative/Summative Assessment
Learn how to embed videos into Google Forms. Participants will create Forms to assess knowledge gained from videos they have created and/or curated. You'll also learn how to analyze & interpret the data collected and using it to drive instructional decisions.
