Galesburg CUSD #205 Technology Vision Statement

Technology is a transparent, vital component in forming partnerships among students, staff, and community; in creating a caring environment; in empowering our students; and in developing life-long learners. These beliefs support our vision:
  • We form and strengthen partnerships by providing communication technologies that enhance the community in which we live. (telecommunications)
  • We create a caring, student-centered, learning environment by providing education and support for our staff in the use of technology to meet the varied needs or our students. (technology resources and professional development) 
  • We empower students by providing well-chosen teaching strategies, hardware, and software. (instructional technology)
  • We enable our graduates to develop as productive, life-long learners by providing access to technologies of research and multimedia production and to become active members of a global community. (instructional and information technologies)
  • We explore existing and emerging technologies and develop plans to implement appropriate educational tools, now and in the future. (planning beyond the scope of our 2010-2013 technology integration plan, approved March 18, 2010, by ISBE.)
